I’m interested in the mechanical properties of the fatigue contact damage zone, which is the first millimeter depth in the surface layer of any case hardened component, particularly the gears. So, my interests are in the measurement of residual stresses and retained austenite in hardened layers (carburising and nitriding heat treatments, with or without sub-zero treating), in the determination of the mechanical properties of the hardened layers, in the bearings and gears type of materials, in the surface super-finishing, in the tooth wear of a gear, in the influence of the addendum modification coefficient, etc.
